FAQ
General
Most babies use between 2,500 and 3,000 disposable diapers in just their first year of life, and they continue requiring diapers until they are potty trained. Not to mention, disposable diapers account for 2 percent of the U.S.’s landfill waste.
Disposing of diapers varies by location, in Toronto you can dispose of Nateen Diapers in the green (compost) bin. The bag in which diapers are packaged must go in the blue recycling bin. In most locations, diapers still go in your regular black bin, but since Nateen diapers are biodegradable, even in a landfill, they will decompose much faster (3-6 years) vs regular diapers (300+ years)
We at Nateen are looking to make the company more sustainable, more and more environmentally friendly. We have an objective and we will seek to produce all of our products so that they are 100% biodegradable. Today we already have products like this, but most are 80% biodegradable.
All the materials used for our products are sourced in an environmentally friendly way (see FSC certificate). In addition, we do not use GMO materials to manufacture our products and Nateen follows strict environmental guidelines (see all of our sustainable certificates).
Our diapers decompose within 3 – 6 years VS 300+ years for regular diapers. They are free of chlorine bleach and fragrances which can damage landfills.
